Terry's Farm in Madison County
Some people have expressed an interest in the farm I have  in
Madison County, so I thought I would share some pictures that
Martha and I made a couple of years ago.  This is where I grew up,
and this farm has been in the family for generations.
Overlooking the house
and farm buildings from
an adjacent mountainside.
This bottomland is now a
hayfield, but it has
produced many thousands
of pounds of burley
tobacco over the years.
Mom's vegetable garden
in the foreground with my
ham radio antennas in
the background.
The view of the
surrounding mountains
from our upper hay
fields.
One of the many hidden
treasures of my farm is
this pre-civil war era log
house that my grand-
father built a barn
around.
Looking across a meadow
towards an old barn.
Looking toward the Sodom
and Lumptown communities
at our property line on top of
a mountain.
Martha drives my
Massey-Ferguson
quite well.
My cattle weren't really
interested in posing for
a photograph.
No farm would be complete
without a good supply of
firewood for the winter.
Everyone who knows me,
knows that I am a pack rat.  I
may have the last 10 foot
satellite dish in America, even
though I haven't used it in
years.  Martha is very tolerant
of my disorder.
My mother, Fronia,
enjoys a drink as she
tries to decide what
Martha is doing with
the camera.
Mom enjoys growing flowers
all around the house along
with her vegetable garden.
The barn isn't used for curing
tobacco or sheltering horses
anymore, but I keep plenty of
toys in it.
