Myrtle Beach Double-Header November, 2007
|
We made two trips to Myrtle Beach with our camper in
November. The first was with our friends Rick and Vickie
Shelton from Jonesborough, TN.
Nothing like relaxing at the beach
with good friends!
Us guys shopping for
big boy's toys. Rick
taught us several tricks
to make our camper
more functional.
It was cool enough for a
long sleeved shirt or
jacket most of the time,
but the weather was
perfect!
Time to pose for some pictures.
Set the self-timer and run!
No crowds on the
beach today.
Just over a week later, we were back at Ocean Lakes
Campground for what has become our annual Thanksgiving
week trip to attend the SC State Bluegrass Festival.
Ocean Lakes wouldn't
be the same without
golf cart rides.
Anthony gets Haley's
bike road ready.
Aubry knows what to
do with a good biscuit.
Time for our
Thanksgiving
dinner on the
beach.
The weather was
great with temps is
the upper 60's and
little wind.
All the comforts of
home, to go with the
beach atmosphere.
We also joined Haley
in celebrating her
11th birthday.
Unfortunately, we still
had to do the dishes,
even at the beach.
Martha has become
friends with Jack, the
retired bus driver for
IIIrd Tyme Out.
Three generations
of Stanleys, as Ralph
performs with his
son and grandson.
Martha and Henry talk
with Bobby Osborne.
Any UT fans out there
ever heard "Rocky
Top"?
Martha even got time
to do some shopping.
She didn't buy this bag,
by the way. Someone
else bought it while
she was thinking about
it.
One of our favorite
bands is Cherryholmes.
They were the 2005
IBMA Entertainers of the
Year.
Cia Lee Cherryholmes autographs
Anthony's banjo head and poses
for a photograph with him. She is
as charming as she is beautiful
and talented.
Jere "Pop" Cherryholmes
poses with Haley. She
was not bashful!
Henry was our
"man in black."
Aubry was ready to
pose for a picture
anytime.
Waiting in the burger
line.
Near starvation from
waiting in line so long
made the burgers and
dogs taste better.
Haley poses with Skip
Cherryholmes. She has
become a bluegrass
fan after this night.
Cherryholmes closed
out the festival with
their high energy act.
After three days, we
were all getting tired.
Kaleb is barely hanging
on, as it is way past his
bedtime.
There was still some
time for playing back at
the campground
before heading back
home.
One last trip down
to the ocean. It
was not swimsuit
weather by the
last day of our trip.
Time to turn in the
limo golf cart and
return home.
Before leaving, we had to make
a picture of this motorhome.
Wow! This paint job probably
cost more than our house.
