Monument Valley, Arizona
Utah is like no other
place we have ever
been. We used
Bluff, UT as a home
base to explore the
area.
The twin rocks are
Bluff's scenic wonder.
We were quite
impressed by this
hanging rock at the
restaurant in town.
Mexican Hat is a
landmark and a
small town near the
UT - AZ border
Arizona was a new
state for both of us.
We became suckers
for native pottery on
this trip. It sure did
make good gifts for
the family and friends.
We chose the self-guided
tour through Monument
Valley. Anyone who has
ever watched a western
movie will recognize this
area. These formations
are known as the mittens.
That's a big rock!
It is not one of
the mittens, but
it does look like
a big hand.
We pose in front of
the "Three Sisters."
The cloud cover was
really heavy most of
the time we were
there. We got a little
break just before we
left.
This is some of the
most awesome
western scenery
that we have seen
anywhere.
Mother nature is
quite an artist.
We will definitely return
to this area again. Can't
you just see John Wayne
riding off into the
sunset?
