Harry S. Truman home and
St. Louis Gateway Arch
On the return trip
home, we decided to
stop at the Harry S.
Truman home in
Independence, MO.
We were honored to
visit the home of who is
likely to be the last
common-man president
of the United States.
This was a worthwhile
stop.
We were not allowed
to take pictures
inside, but the very
nice ranger made
our picture by the
front steps.
The Truman Library
and Museum was a
fascinating tour
through history that
we really enjoyed.
Our next stop was
St. Louis, MO.
We were a little
pressed for time,
and weary from the
fast-paced trip, but
we wanted to see
the famous Gateway
Arch.
This thing is bigger
than it looks from
the road. It is 630
feet tall!
We didn't go up in the
arch, but there is a
tram inside that
carries passengers to
the top.
The arch is beside
the Mississippi River
and lots of gambling
boats.
After this stop, it was back
home, and back to work!
