Anthony's
Radio Tower
Before you can go
up, you have to go
down.
Who was it that said,
"When you find yourself
in a hole, stop digging?"
This is like playing
army.  Dig a hole
then fill it up.
It's getting closer!
The hole is full, the
conduit buried, and a
ground rod ready to be
driven.
This should give
any lightning strikes
a good path to
ground.
The concrete is poured,
and the base is guyed.
Now let everything set
up good before moving
on.
It's time to put the
antenna together.
A four element quad
is bigger than it looks
in the catalog.
Making sure everything
is exactly right.  It's
easier on the ground
than it is on top of a
tower.
It's finished and ready
to go in the air.
Now, the real
fun begins.
Up it goes, a piece
at a time.
We're making some
real progress now.
The last section of
tower is in place.
The antenna is at the
top.  Please don't
drop it!
A few adjustments at
the top.
Houston, we have a
lift-off.
Anthony decides to go
up and check things out,
just in case, because the
installer screws up a lot.
Well, at least the guy
wire didn't fall off.
A feed-through plate is
installed for additional
static and lightning
protection.
The coax connectors
are attached and sealed.
This job is done!
