We've seen lots of
construction along the
way. We allowed some of
this to be completed by
going into Alaska via the
Top of the World
Highway.
The town of Haines
Junction is nestled next
to the huge mountains in
Kluane National Park.
The "Haines road
junction." Haines is the
only large town in Alaska,
accessible by road, that we
did not visit. We needed
to leave something unseen
to keep us curious for next
time.
Sheep Mountain in
Kluane NP. The clouds
are still hanging with
us, so no sheep this
time.
A museum in Teslin, YT
had the most realistic
dead animal display that
I've seen anywhere.
Wow, wouldn't you
love to pet these
puppies in the wild?
Gas prices are back to $4.75 -
$5.00/gal, so we spent a night
in the Wal-Mart parking lot in
Whitehorse to help average
down our expenses. We had
lots of company. I counted 40
RV's in the parking lot that
night.
I wish that I had this
taxidermist's skills. All
these displays were
outstanding. There were
also musk ox, moose, polar
bear, deer, and a host of
smaller animals.
